Job Purpose:
Shape the Future of our IT Landscape as an IT Product Manager for the Operational Enablement team
IT Product Management within GPAM is a dynamic, high-impact role that drives the design, development, delivery, and operational excellence of one or more IT products throughout their lifecycle. This isn’t just management - it’s leadership. You’ll define a bold product vision, craft aligned roadmaps, and work closely with cross-functional teams - including GPAM, ISM, SPMVA, ITS, regional teams, and external partners—to ensure every solution meets business goals and exceeds customer expectations.
In this role, you’ll champion the needs of customers, users, Products and Function, ensuring your IT products deliver exceptional value while staying true to organizational principles. From IT product solution design and application build to testing, deployment, and RUN operations, you’ll take ownership and drive results. Collaboration is key—you’ll partner with DGF Products and Functions, software suppliers, and service providers to meet functional and non-functional requirements and uphold SLA commitments.

Key Tasks:
- Product Roadmap: Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with business goals and customer needs
- Demand Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, clarify, analyze, and prioritize requirements and user stories, ensuring detailed and accurate specifications
- IT Product Solution Design: Define, document, and align on IT product-specific changes or developments required to meet demand and deliver user stories
- Technical Architecture: Evaluate, propose, and ensure IT products comply with all technical requirements and standards
- IT Product Solution Delivery: Manage or execute configuration, build, testing, and release of required changes into production
- Release Management: Manage the RTP process in compliance with corporate requirements and ensure SOPs and training materials remain up to date.
- Run Operations: Defines, agrees, manage and monitors robust RUN operation requirements, mechanisms and processes.
- IT Supplier Management: Manage the internal and external suppliers
- Product Knowledge and User Experience Optimization: Analyze and optimize operational processes, and deliver IT product demos to showcase best practices and explain changes to stakeholders and user communities
- IT Security: Ensure that the IT Product complies with the DHL security standards and best practices
- IT Compliance and risk management: Maintain and update IT internal control documentation and evidence, ensuring compliance and proactively managing risks and issues
- Reporting and TCO Management: Develop, monitor, and manage budgets and costs, while ensuring timely and accurate product status reporting to stakeholders
- Others: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the Operational Enablement team
Qualifications & Key Requirements:
- The ability to integrate technical expertise with a strong understanding of logistics and freight forwarding operations and customer requirements
- The capability to manage complex logistics software systems and ensure they are user-friendly, scalable, and tailored to industry needs
- Competence in translating complex logistics and freight forwarding requirements into functional software features while fostering collaboration across diverse teams
- Proven organizational skills to manage multiple projects in parallel while delivering on committed timelines
- Solid understanding of Transport Management operations processes
- The ability to design, manage, monitor, and deliver complex IT build projects
- Highly effective communication skills
- Experience in managing internal and external teams as well as vendors for an IT product
- The ability to manage large projects or processes with minimal oversight
- Understanding of business-critical requirements and their impact on process execution
- The capability to balance IT system constraints with business priorities, ensuring pragmatic and cost-effective solutions
- Extensive knowledge and experience with key IT products and business processes within the DGF Operations landscape including FSI3, ESP, VCC, CW1, Matrix, Starbroker, and Yield & Allocation Management
- Above-average technical skills and strong knowledge of modern IT architecture
- Understanding of how technology should drive and support business operations
- Experience deploying systems using Agile or Scrum methodologies and understanding time-to-market concepts in application development
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Fluent in English
- Relevant degree in Logistics, Forwarding, IT Management or equivalent experience
- Certified Project Manager or Certified Product Owner
- Minimum five years of freight forwarding business process exposure
- Minimum three years of application management experience or three years of project or large-program management experience
